Serving Others Is Serving Yourself
Service is fundamental to personal growth. The ability to step outside of yourself and give requires compassion, patience, and temperance. Our human experience demands interconnectivity, thus presenting opportunities to serve one another.
By serving others, we put our intentional skills to the test. Through helping our neighbor take on the responsibility to follow through without actions, you’re holding yourself accountable. This can get tricky. It’s like the quote: “do as I say, not as I do.”
But what if we all did? Our actions can speak for us.
If you are someone who struggles with committing to your goals and if you find yourself finding difficulty following through, serving others is practice. When we serve another person, even a small gesture, we are practicing intention turning to action. We give ourselves the space to trust in our ability and extend kindness.
Serving others reminds you that if you can complete that for someone else, you can do it for yourself. Serving others is truly providing service to Y.O.U.
